Cows & Calves 2008

Gyranda heifers purchased in 2006
Being in a continuing drought the last few years, it’s been tough going, especially for the females at Glen Leigh. This year we had sent most of the breeding herd away on agistment, west of Coonamble. The cows have finally made the long trip home again and it is wonderful to see how well conditioned they are, especially with calves at foot.
All of the cows are now depastured back to the stud bulls, with a strict 12week joining period. Any that fail to get back in calf will be culled.
We have sold a number of commercial cows and calves to help reduce stock numbers and also to allow room for new heifers coming up through the herd.
We have sourced females from well known and reputable studs such as Allendale, Santalands, Valleyview, Ellera, Santa Park, Gyranda and most recently from the Hartwood Dispersal Sale.
