About Us

We purchased Wilgaroon Duntroon privately from John & Liz Manchee’s Wilgaroon Stud after Big Banana got injured. Duntroon is a polled ET son of Wave Hill Major (P) who sold to the Strathmore Stud for $44,000. His dam, Murrumbo Sapphire 1310/1 (P) was a 19 year old cow who had 15 calves, she is also the dam of  Murrumbo Beaumon (P) and Wilgaroon Kokoda (P). Duntroon was shown at Beef Australia in Rockhampton in 2009, where he was placed 3rd and he won his class at Brisbane as a Junior bull.

Duntroon is an exceptionally long bull that carries a tonne of muscle, has an excellent sheath, a smooth topline and moves freely. He has plenty of sire appeal and has quickly established himself with his females and keeps them close by.

In the 2011 calving, he has sired 64 calves (including 1 set of twins) from his 2010 (first year) joining. He was then joined with maiden heifers in May this year and came out with a 100% PTIC rate. Straight after that, Duntroon was put out with the main cow mob. In all our years, we have never seen such a bull that constantly demands females. He came out of the winter and heifer joining without losing an ounce of weight and he just slots straight in with his new cow mob. We are just gobsmacked by what this bull is doing here. His calves are probably the best that we have seen here so far.   Calf photos will be added shortly.

Keep watching this sire!!!
